For me, as a total & complete lover of travelling, the last night and last day of a holiday is the worst. You know that normal life is just ahead. We had a cruisy morning having breakfast in our room and packing up all our things. We checked out of the resort – very sadly – and thanked the staff for our brilliant stay. I’m going to miss the sound of the waterfall in the pool when I go to […]
We started today having Breakfast with the Birds at Wildlife Habitat. It starts at 8.30am & is only a few minutes drive down the road from the Resort, or you can even walk if tour feeling energetic & its not too hot. So you don’t have to get out of bed too early. It’s a gorgeous place. The breakfast is yummy with lots to choose from – hot food, fruit, cereals, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, hot chocolate – and it’s […]
Today we had a relaxing morning at the resort which was really nice. The girls were keen on the $1 all you can eat pancakes in the restaurant & they were very full afterwards. It’s a great bargain. They have the pancake machine that make them in front of you & the choice of chocolate, strawberry or maple syrup for topping. They combined all 3 for a taste sensation! The resort is gorgeous in the morning with the sun filtering […]
So now we feel more relaxed & look like we fit in! Yesterday we had our Sydney clothes on, fresh from a cold morning when we left home. Today it’s cosies, boardies & thongs. It’s a very comfortable place when you are dressed in the right clothes! We had a pretty good sleep but 3 little kids thought it was play time in the middle of the night because “we are in a hotel Mummy” – so they think they […]
It’s been a little bit rainy, cold and miserable over the last week or so on the Gold Coast – something as a local I’m really not prepared for! My boys have been home on school holidays (my ‘big’ boy works at a school) and although they had a few lovely snuggly movie days – they started to go a little stir crazy! So we put our minds together and came up with some activities to bring some rainy day […]
I’m not usually a fan of cold weather – I find myself constantly repeating the phrase ‘it’s freezing’ during the winter months. It’s quite chilly already here on the Gold Coast, and this year I’ve decided to embrace the cold and find lots of reasons to enjoy the cold.
I love a Road Trip! That feeling of ‘freedom’ when you’re all packed, on the road and heading to your holiday destination. You’ve got nothing to do but hang out with your loved ones. It’s a great time to talk and inspire. Listening to your favourite songs is a part of that – these songs can set the tone of your holiday. Here’s a quick round up of some of the favourites our team have.
I’m a hypocrite. I am constantly writing about how important it is to spend special, quality, holiday time with your family. However it took an injury for me to slow down and spend even one day with my lovely family these school holidays! Why? Because I really enjoy my work and want to do well. And I also want to do well so my family is financially secure. This work-life balance is sometimes hard to get right!
I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today. And a little adventurous at the same time. So brace yourselves – today’s post is all about Rotorua and how it came to be so hot…even explosive!
This week I was reminded of the year and a half I lived in Tasmania in my younger years. It had been my intention to spend a year travelling when I finished High School, however instead I ended up staying in Hobart. We had accommodation on an old Sydney ferry docked at the wharf, and it was the perfect spot to make the most out of all that Hobart had to offer. I thought I’d share with you some of […]
