4 ways to celebrate the shortest day of the year

Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere is upon us, it is ‘Winter Solstice eve’ – June 21st will be shortest day of the year, with just 9 hours and 30ish minutes of sunlight.

So, how are people celebrating the shortest day this year?

Winter festivities are taken to a whole new level with Dark MOFO, hosted by MONA in Hobart. Music, movies, amazing food & drink – and of course – top off the 2 Degree evening with the Dark MOFO Nude Solstice Swim.

…or venture up to the Blue Mountains for a day of free entertainment, artists, musicians, dancers, drummers, choirs and arts and craft stalls at the Winter Magic Music Festival in Katoomba.

Or if moving from the lounge is not an option, settle in for a fantastic game of ruggers!

If you’re feeling just a little saucy, a whole lot of laughs and fun, and ready for a night of fantastic entertainment – perhaps check out the Queensland Cabaret Festival in Brisbane!
