Local Secrets – Port Macquarie with Shayne.

This week I chatted with Shayne, one of our wonderful Customer Service & Loyalty team members.  As a Port Macquarie boy, he has plenty of tips for WorldMarkSP Owners visiting there for the first time.

What are your best memories about growing up in Port Macquarie?

Everything is really close, and there is much more freedom to get out and see things than you’d have in a bigger city.  I spent a lot of time playing cricket and tennis.  Port Macquarie Tennis Club even overlooks the ocean!

Where would you find the best coffee in Port Macquarie?

You’ll always get a good cup at Crema Cafe.  It’s about a 5 minute drive from Wyndham Flynn’s Beach, and an easy walk from WorldMark Resort Port Macquarie (Northpoint).

What about Port Macquarie’s nightlife?

Wherever you start, everyone always ends up at the Macquarie Hotel.  We locals call it ‘The Macca’.  It always has a great, welcoming vibe – a great place to meet a local.

And the best place to eat?

I’ve been hearing great things about Zebu lately.  And for seafood lovers, check out Whalebone Wharf.

While you’re in Port Macquarie, Shayne highly recommends a visit to Sea Acres Rainforest Centre – where you can enjoy a 10K walk through the rainforest.  For fun, play a round of Hydro Golf – which is golf with floating targets in water & putt putt!!

Port Macquarie is a great place for nature and fun lovers alike.
Well worth a visit!

Sorry for the secrecy Terry & Gwenda. I usually publish on a Wednesday, but needed a way for Shayne to check I had captured all his suggestions properly before sharing it with our wider audience. It’s available for anyone to view now 🙂
