Local Secrets – Coffs Harbour with Candice

This week, we caught up with Candice Dittmann, member of our Sales Team – and although based in our Gold Coast Head Office – still a Coffs girl at heart.  We talked to her about the best things to do in her hometown, check out her secrets below.

What are your favourite memories about growing up in Coffs?

Being outside!  There are 2 different aspects to being outside in Coffs – the bush, and the beaches. For your hit of the bush, Bruxner Park has everything.  And there’s lots of lovely beaches to choose from.  ‘Jetty Jumping’ is a bit of a Coffs tradition.  We recently coerced my mum into maintaining the tradition – for her 50th Birthday!

As a mum, where would you recommend other parents take their kids for a great day in Coffs?

Moonee Inlet is great if you want to spend a day at the beach with little ones.  There is lots of shallow water, shade and a great kids playground.  If you’re looking for a bit more adventure you could take the (approximately) 1.5 hour return walk to the waterfall at Sherwood Forest (yes, that’s right, Sherwood Forest!).  This is just past Russell Crowe’s house (yes, I’ve seen him).  And even though I’ve been many times, The Big Banana is worth a visit.  I especially love the ice skating, waterpark and their Banana Splits – which are the best around!

Where should our WorldMarkSP Owners go for a great cup of coffee in Coffs?

I love Ladybird’s Cafe – and not just for the coffee.  It’s set in a Garden Centre and the cafe is 1930’s themed.  You can have High Tea and it’s just beautiful.
