Resort Reporter Fiji #84 – San Francisco & Canada

My most recent Worldmark adventure with my husband and two teenage daughters took us to SanFrancisco, Vancouver and Whistler in that order.  As it was February, we packed the typical winter suitcase full of coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots, struggling to stay within the weight limit restrictions.

San Francisco left me speechless (and as a Speechly that is really saying something!). It is a city which has an incredibly famous profile with scenes of the instantly recognisable Golden Gate Bridge often featured in television shows and movies. What a thrill to discover that it was every bit as beautiful and exciting as it is portrayed to be. So much so, that one of my daughters puts it at the top of her list for a return visit. The Cable Car drivers are as much fun as the ride itself, providing good natured humour and laughs as you ascend and descend the hills of downtown SanFrancisco. Must do’s include Alcatraz and Muir Woods. After visiting Alcatraz, we finished off the evening by watching the movie “Escape from Alcatraz” starring Clint Eastwood. The kids loved it!
Worldmark SanFrancisco was the perfect base for all our sightseeing. It was an easy walk to whatever we needed, from Cable Car stops, to a Convenience Store, to Downtown Shopping and Dining.

Next stop was the Canadian in the heart of Vancouver.  Perfectly positioned with floor to ceiling windows providing a picture perfect postcard perspective of the beautiful city with it’s backdrop of snowcapped mountains. What a welcome! Vancouver has so much to offer with sightseeing and activities that will exhilarate and exhaust you. A visit to Grouse Mountain, accessible by a breathtaking gondola ride is a must! Local snow sports are available at Cypress, Seymour and Grouse Mountains including ice skating, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, tubing and snow mobiling.  Other highly recommended stops are Capilano Suspension Bridge, Stanley Park, Granville Island, Kitsilano and the massive mall called Metro Plaza in Burnaby, where I guarantee you will drop before you finish your shop!

Then it was off to Whistler for more winter wonderland adventure. Again, Worldmark Whistler was a delightful surprise. The staff was absolutely “top shelf” and our apartment with it’s rustic decor and excellent amenities just about had us wanting to move over permanently! Whistler is a premier, world class destination that ought to be on every travel lovers bucket list.

What I love most about my Worldmark membership can be summed up as; One planet, One Worldmark, One mission. See it all! Thank you Worldmark for all the lifetime memories that our family creates as our holiday dreams become realities. Hmmmm, where shall I go next? I do believe I hear Worldmark Denarau Fiji calling my name!
