Resort Reporter Fiji #82 – Torquay

Wyndham Resort Torquay: the perfect destination for a family holiday, a couples retreat or a getaway with friends. I have been lucky enough to stay there twice. The first time was with a group of friends, all of whom really enjoyed it. The second time was earlier this year when I took my 3 year old son and my 6 year old niece for a 5 day holiday.

I must admit, this was my first trip away with two young kids, and I was a little worried if there would be enough to keep them amused for the 5 days we were away or whether I would be pulling my hair out within a couple of days! My worries subsided as soon as we arrived and I remembered how amazing the resort is for a family. The kids loved playing at the park, swimming in the pool, riding their scooters out the front of our room, having their first “game” of tennis and also ordering room service for their first time.

The pool area is fantastic as it includes the hot spa, the warm smaller end of the pool and the main big pool (a little cool for me for the time of year we went!) as well as the indoor pool for those motivated enough to swim laps. The kids spent hours jumping from one area of the pool to the other and in and out of the spa.

Although there was enough to keep the kids amused at the resort for the few full days we stayed, it is also in a wonderful location to enjoy many close-by attractions. We visited Werribee Open Range Zoo on our way to Torquay. Also great for day trips would be Geelong Adventure Park and Anakie Fairy Park. Geelong is within close proximity and we really enjoyed the waterfront including the water, the park, the museum and the rides. And of course, directly across the road from Wyndham Resort Torquay there is the beach and a massive park/playground area just down the road.

Wyndham Torquay is a beautiful resort with great facilities. It is in a fantastic location and ticks all the boxes. Call me crazy, but I was just telling my sister last week that next time I’ll bring all three of her kids along with me and my son – we will be back.
