I have been an owner since purchasing in Fiji in 2002. Since that time I have travelled over and stayed at the resort every year, sometime 2 or 3 times within the year. I have seen the resort go from Trendwest to Worldmark to Wyndham. I have also holidayed through 8 different changes of Managers, numerous Assistant Managers and countless changes of staff through the various areas of the resort. Some who have become close friends.
I have seen the Sales and Marketing team operate out of 3 different areas, a Unit before the Sales Office was built, the Sales Office which has now been knocked down and the new Sales area above reception. I have referred friends who have become owners and are also regular visitors to the Fiji resort.
Before there was a Restaurant on site, we dined pool side at the themed nights, then I was there on the opening day of the Sea Front Restaurant and also the demolition of the Sea Front, have dined at the temporary Snack Bar and now have been priviledge to share a meal with friends at Mamacitas.
I was honored to be on site when the official ceremony was held for the turning of the soil for the stage 3 development. Even managed to have my photo in the Fiji Sun wearing by Fiji Flag sulu at the event. (Can provide picture if you like).
I have seen activities relocated at least 4 times, the bar being renovated and a new one along side the new pool, have seen ice cream shops come and go, the kids club move to a new and better facility, the upgrade of the reception area to name just a few.
Through all this change, one thing remains the same, you could not find a better place to holiday. Tthe units are fantastic, the surrounding gardens are something the gardeners can be very proud of, you meet and make life long friends with other owners, guests and staff.
I have photos and video/dvds from the past 12 years that support the changes that i have seen.
I would be very honored to share another holiday at Wyndham Fiji Denarau Island with all other owners via my photos, blogs etc. if i am lucky enough to be the Resort Reporter.
