Resort Reporter Fiji #50 – Pokolbin Hill Favourite

One of my favourite Worldmark resorts to visit is Polkobin Hill, otherwise known as Hunter Valley as it’s only a couple of hours from Sydney and a perfect weekend gateway!

Needless to say, I’ve been to Polkobin Hill/ Hunter Valley resort a few times now, and without a doubt, I always have a great time there with friends.  This time was no exception and I went there with some special friends of mine from the US who decided to try hot air ballooning for the first time!

We woke up very early the next morning, but we were very well rewarded as it turned out to be an awesome blue sky day!  There was a bit of mist that morning, which was expected as it was cold!  However, as they got the hot air balloon prepared for liftoff, the sky cleared up nicely and the view was just simply spectacular from all the top!  We certainly felt like royalty as we were treated to a very sumptuous champagne breakfast at Polkobin Champagne house after we landed.  If you love your sweets, you have to visit there – they have a very interesting sparkling Semillon Botrytis which I have never seen elsewhere!

With our bellies full, we visited a few vineyards for some wine tasting… and enjoyed the lovely crisp clean air and beautiful scenery too!  My visit to Hunter Valley always brings me to Audrey Wilkinson – to top up my Moscato wine collection,  and also to enjoy the best view of the Hunter!

We also stopped by the best fish place in town – at the Leaves & Fishes restaurant. Their fresh seafood never fails to impress us and with such a cozy atmosphere, it was the perfect place to have a relaxing long lunch!

Thanks Worldmark for another awesome holiday full of great memories!
