Resort Reporter Fiji #38 – Torquay

Hi WorldMark holidayers!

Just checking in from the magical resort of Torquay.

This beautiful location is perfect for a short weekend away or a long stay. We packed up our car for an easy getaway long weekend and could have stayed for a life time.

In the magnificent entry you are greeted by your friendly host who will go above and beyond your every need, checking in is a breeze because WorldMark have taken care of everything for you.  With convenient under cover parking, you walk through one door and there’s a gentleman greeting us to take our bags. No stress about lugging them anywhere!

Our room was spacious, with a comfy bed and the shower, to die for! Our private balcony was perfect to take in the scenery of the ocean right across the road.

Lounging by the pool, sipping our cocktails is how we spent our first afternoon, followed by some fantastic home made pizzas in the bar beside the pool.

Feeling as though you’ve got the resort to yourself, we enjoyed a massage in the day spa that sent us light years away.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner was a blast in latitude 38. I enjoyed a beautiful barista made coffee and poached eggs surrounded by the most beautiful scenery for breakfast. Dinner was fine dining at its best with the most beautiful, melt in your mouth steak with a glass of complimentary red wine, (just for being Owners) setting the back drop for a very romantic evening.

Finding it hard to pry ourselves away from the resort, I had a quick workout in the brand new gym the next morning and we headed off for a stroll down the beach with some great recommendations from our friendly host on places to visit. No need for us to take the car because of Wyndham’s location, the shops are only a walk away. Hard to believe its so secluded with waterfront views! We grabbed fish and chips from a little fish and chip shop in the heart of Torquay, which came highly recommended by our host, went and sat on a setting by the beach and enjoyed every crumb. Satisfied by the best calamari rings I’ve ever tasted we took our time walking around Torquay, soaking in the carefree ambiance that is the little town.

Exhausted from our shopping ventures we head up to our room for a quiet night in with room service and a bottle of local wine.

Our last day, we ventured out of our comfort zone for a short five minute drive to the shopping outlets that were sure to please! Rummaging through the bargains, we walked away with bag after bag of clothes and accessories. It’s worth while saving all of your shopping for one weekend of holidaying in Torquay! Even my fiancé enjoyed the shopping trip!

Exploring through Wyndham Resort Torquay, there really is something for everyone. From the family who we got chatting to by the pool that was on vacation with their four kids, to the newly weds who we met in the elevator that had celebrated their big night upstairs in the Zeally Ballroom with all their family and friends. We loved every second of our short getaway, with the highlight of the trip being our wonderful host Tracey!

We look forward to heading back soon, maybe even for our very own location wedding!
