Resort Reporter Fiji #8 – Our QLD Adventure

I would love to tell you about our first ever WorldMarkSP holiday, taken in October of 2011.  My husband and I decided that we would love to take our two young boys to QLD. The perfect family getaway! In QLD you are spoiled for choice of resorts but we finally decided on a split booking between two QLD resorts and locations so that we could experience both the excitement and fun of the Gold Coast as well as the quieter, more relaxing Sunshine Coast. After much excitement and planning we narrowed it down to WorldMark Resort Golden Beach and Wyndham Kirra Beach.

After an epic two day road trip we FINALLY arrived on the beautiful Sunshine coast and it sure lived up to its name. WorldMark Resort Golden Beach was fantastic and met our high expectations, but more importantly the kids LOVED the pool with its slide. We loved the location of the resort, walking distance to shops and restaurants as well as being near the beach. We had a wonderful time exploring local attractions such as Australia Zoo and the many beautiful beaches. We even found a ship wreck much to my youngest son’s excitement!

This photo shows the beautiful pool, and beaches in the background, that awaited us on arrival at the WorldMark Golden Beach Resort on the Sunshine Coast. The kids were begging to go down to the pool at every spare minute because they loved the water slide so much. Not that we had many spare minutes as our days were jam packed exploring and enjoying the beautiful Sunshine Coast!

This photo was taken at Australia Zoo which we visited while staying at Golden Beach resort. It was an easy drive from the resort and we had an amazing time. Our boys loved the Croc show and they even got to see their hero, Bindi!

We didn’t want to leave the Sunshine Coast but we knew we would have just a good at time at Wyndham Kirra beach. And we were right!! From the moment we checked into our room we were struck by the beautiful view and we were greeted by the sight of migrating whales from our balcony. The location of WorldMark resorts is always outstanding and this one was no exception. We visited Seaworld and Currumbin Bird Sanctuary and spent plenty of time swimming and relaxing at the beautiful resort pools.

This photo was taken from the balcony of our room at Worldmark at Kirra beach. We enjoyed watching the sun set each evening and woke up each morning to the sight of migrating whales. An amazing experience!

This photo shows the joy on my son’s face when feeding the birds at Currumbin Bird Sanctuary, which is a short drive from Kirra Beach resort. This was the absolute highlight of their holiday, we were the first to arrive and the last to leave. They would have gone every single day if they could (and potentially they could have, being so close to the resort….if there wasn’t so many other wonderful places to visit and things to do!).

It was during this amazing holidays that we decided to become full members of WorldMark and we are now looking forward to many wonderful years of WorldMark holidays to come!
