Resort Reporter Fiji #15 – Diverse Holidays

Tony and I have enjoyed diverse Wyndham holiday experiences, sharing these with friends, parents, children, and, more recently, grandchildren. Secure in the knowledge of acquiring outstanding accommodation, our excitement begins in the dreaming and planning stages, and continues throughout our amazing holidays.

These holidays have included one stop stays, using our Wyndham resort as a base in Cairns and Torquay, and a fantastic and most memorable road trip, linking Sydney to Gold Coast via Polkolbin, Port MacQuarie, and Coffs Harbour to Kirra. We have stayed at Kirra three times, mostly for the surfing, but also for the Coolie Rocks classic car festival in June.  As for wining and dining, this can happen anywhere, but Hunter Valley and Torquay remain up there in our estimations.

We had a family get together in Wanaka in the winter of 2011 to celebrate our twin daughters’ 30th birthdays, where our 4 children and their partners all came together for an amazing wonderland experience. Some of those family members had never ventured to the South Island, so what a unique experience we had there. And for true rest and relaxation, our latest holiday was in Denerau, sharing a fantastic apartment with family, including an 11 month old granddaughter.  Here we enjoyed the friendly people, the resort (despite the renovations), and languishing in the sun.

Our latest booking includes a week in San Diego for April 2014, where we will make more memories with family, including a grandson. And believe me, the San Diego zoo, Legoland, and the surf are beckoning. The excitement and anticipation of having these breakaways planned, keeps us motivated while we work through the rest of the year. Maybe we will have a second holiday next year……..mmm, the WA experience of Perth and Dunsborough looks fantastic, but so does Vietnam! So many choices – how lucky are we!
