Resort Reporter Port Douglas #58 – Port Douglas Dreaming

Anticipation… of our impending holiday to Port Douglas, for a week in June,
conjures up images of our rainforest surrounded, fabulous-looking Ramada Resort
with its lagoon pool, the not too distant Daintree rainforest, Mosman Gorge and
the reef.

A stone’s throw from our resort, we’ll catch the Silversonic highspeed, modern, luxurious
catamaran for our snorkelling or scuba diving day-trip on the Great Barrier Reef.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a half-day fishing trip thrown in there somewhere too?
We’ll come to “our home away from home” to unwind in the resort pool,
dine at the Tree Bar and Grill to the sounds of the waterfall, pamper our stressed bodies
with a massage and experience a first with yoga instruction.

Armed with a picnic, we anticipate a day out exploring the Mossman Gorge rainforest.
We could have an early morning hot-air balloon flight which will give us a spectacular
birds’ eye view of the Great Barrier Reef, rainforest and the hinterland of Port Douglas.
At the Sunday markets we willl be able to sample local fare and perhaps find a permanent
reminder of Port Douglas for our house.

Anticipation…. we could drive up to Cape Tribulation and perhaps spot a Cassowary
as we cruise along the rainforest road…. we could visit Hartley’s crocodile farm, or
give parasailing a go…. we could love the Ramada Resort and surrounding area so
much that after we fly home, we begin planning for our next trip because we didn’t
finish doing everything we anticipated…
