Resort Reporter Port Douglas #44 – Townsville to Fiji

July 2006 Gary and I Departed Townsville for FIJI (first time) to attend a wedding at Denarau and to see family in Suva.

As we approached the Island we both felt a sense of belonging. The landscape was incredible

We hired a taxi to take us to Denarau and this was the beginning of something rare and delightful.

The driver and the road rules had me in stitches as well as a little apprehensive

Not knowing if we would reach our destination in one piece

We stayed 9 nights at the resort and during this time we became owners and attended the wedding on the beach. A week later we returned to Denarau and went on a seven night Captain Cook Cruise at half rate with a certificate for new owners.

We still are impressed with the resort the Fijian people and mostly Bula Fiji time. A rustic and relaxed atmosphere.

We were signed up by a delightful Shiva who did his job very well. The staff are so happy and helpful. I had my first (and last) cup of Kava.

We left Fiji knowing we would return on a regular basis which we have 2008 and 2010. Hopefully 2014.
