Resort Reporter Port Douglas #42 – Beautiful Cairns

We wake to the sounds of the radio.  It is still dark, what is going on?  Why is our radio on? Ok, lights on, we are awake.  The radio is on because our alarm has ‘gone off’.  The day has arrived, wake the kids, we are off to Cairns!

Everyone climbs into the car and we are on our way from Newcastle to Sydney Airport.  All aboard the plane, excitement is building.  We land in beautiful Cairns and find our hire car company who load us on to a bus to take us to their office.

Arriving at our resort, our shoes are off…ahhh we are on holidays!

What a holiday it is too.  So much fun, only one day to ourselves!  Almost ten years beforehand Guy and I honeymooned here.  We decide we have to show the kids all the sights we saw way back then.

Hartley’s Creek, Kuranda rail, The skyrail, a visit to Rainforestation, take part in the Army Duck tour an Aboriginal Experience, a day trip to Port Douglas and Mossman Gorge, The Great Barrier Reef…so much to see, so much to do, we will have to return again and again.

We love Cairns.
