Resort Reporter Port Douglas #40 – Sydney and Surfers

Having been to Fiji a number of times to catch up with family; this time we decided that a trip to Australia would be well warranted to share with my family. 4 days at Wyndham Sydney and 4 days at Wyndham Gold Coast.

There were 6 of us in this group (my wife and I, our 2 adult children, my mother in law and my sister in law – visiting from Vancouver). The moment we got to Wyndham Sydney, we were welcomed to the hotel like the staff were welcoming us in their own homes. Nothing was too much trouble and always going out their way to make sure that a friendly smile and a gentle wave indicated that we could rely on the staff at all times. Our Sydney stay coincided with my 50th birthday so a Sydney harbour dinner cruise and ‘Show’ was something that I will forever cherish and having my family with me made it extra special. Obviously getting up on the stage and given the recognition was totally unexpected. A magical evening indeed.

Wyndham Surfers Paradise is so good; we are planning for a return visit. Again; the staff at the resort are at the top of their game (the quality of the resort and facilities are second to none). This convinced us to purchase more credits while we were there. Being able to access the theme parks is a huge draw card, and the rides at Movie World were breath-taking!! (heck! even my 84 year old mother in law went on the ‘Green Lantern’, ‘Batman’ and the ‘Superman’ rides). The jumbo prawns directly from the fisherman and the mud crabs were simply awesome!!

My sister in law says that this was one of the best holidays she’s ever had. A month after the holiday we are still talking about our special holiday and watching our ‘homemade’ videos of a remarkable holiday.
