Easter around your WorldMark South Pacific Locations.

Who’s taking a holiday over Easter?  Here in the South Pacific, it’s a lovely time of year to take that extra long weekend – great swimming weather in many parts, yet not so hot that you melt when you’re not swimming!  There is always lots of things to see and do.  Here’s a round up of some of the things you might find around some of your WorldMarkSP resort locations this Easter.

Sydney – Starting 21 March, the Sydney Royal Easter Show will be well and truly warmed up for you if you’re visiting over Easter.  These days they’ve made it a lot easier to plan your day, with a public transport guide and even a mobile app to help you get the most out of your visit.  If you’re not inclined to brave the crowds at the show, the Hoopla Festival at Darling Harbour over the Easter long weekend, might suit you better.  Full of circus and street performers, there’s sure to be something to keep you entertained.

Wanaka – If you’re a fan of planes, you might want to consider booking your stay for Easter 2014 at Wyndham Wanaka.  That’s when the Warbirds over Wanaka International Airshow will be held next.  Imagine old fighter planes right up to modern day jets – all set against the stunning backdrop that is Wanaka.  If you happen to be visiting this year, perhaps you could run off all the Easter treats in the Southern Lakes Half Marathon – held on Easter Sunday.  And if you happen to be staying a little longer, you’ll have the chance to experience the Festival of Colour, beginning mid April.

Dunsborough – Easter in the Margaret River Region is a more relaxed, artsy affair.  Enjoy the wineries, visit an art exhibition or two, then find some treasures at the Margaret River Maker’s Market.  Easter Sunday is all about the kids (and a little bit about the adults too!) Laurance Wines Family Fun Day might be just the right thing for the whole family.

Torquay – Surfing has become a popular sport to watch with the whole family.  The Rip Curl Pro will be held at Bell’s Beach this Easter – a great way to get a good dose of Vitamin D from that sunshine we’ve been missing, and be entertained and even inspired by some of the best surfers in the world.  If your kids  like to get really active, and learn at the same time, check out the Junior Rangers programme, running from 30 March at various spots around Victoria’s National Park.  This may require a bit of a drive – but if you’ve got a budding environmentalist it should be well worth it.

That’s just a few of the exciting things you might find yourself doing this Easter Long Weekend.  Whatever you’re doing, we wish you a happy, safe and relaxing time.  If you’re a planner and want to enjoy a WorldMarkSP Easter holiday next weekend – start planning now!  Good Friday is 18 April 2014 next year, so the 13 month booking window is almost open!
