Holidays and your perspective.

One of my all time favourite books is Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn.  I love Huck’s character, and I love that his journey provides him with gentle realisations.  I think that’s the thing about taking a holiday – this change, and distance from your everyday life tends to give you a new, fresh perspective on it.  But sometimes it can take a little push, or just a little inspiration to get you going.  Here’s some inspiration that might be the spark for you.  Enjoy.

drag your thoughts

Drag your thoughts away from your

troubles…by the ears, by the heels, or any other

way you can manage  it’.  Mark Twain

‘You lose sight of

things…and when you

travel, everything balances out.’

– Daranna Gidel

“How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then rest afterwards.”

— Spanish Proverb

Foreign Land

“The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at

last to set foot on one’s own country as a foreign land.”

– G. K. Chesterton

‘ A little perspective, like a little humour, goes a long way.’

– Allen Klein

Here’s hoping some of these words and images resonate with you.  It’s worth the effort it takes to pull yourself away from the centre of your life, and give yourself a little perspective.  And I’m doing just that in a couple of weeks – looking forward to a visit to Wyndham Flynn’s Beach.  WorldMarkSP Owners, you know how to book your break 🙂
