Christmas at WorldMark locations.

I feel like December has snuck up on us.  Suddenly, there’s tinsel and lights and Christmas carols.  Although not a huge fan of all the Christmas festivities myself, by mid December I’ve usually succumbed to all the merriment.   If you’re staying at one of these WorldMark resorts this December, and looking for some Christmas activities to get you in the spirit, here’s a round up of some of the best we’ve found.

Wyndham Seven Mile Beach – It’s well worth the drive across the river to the Hobart city centre.  I lived there for a couple of years in my early 20’s and fell in love with the city – to me it has a charming mix of city and country feel.   That charm will only be enhanced this December by the addition of some fun activities for kids.  Christmas Yoga Bugs, Kombicam photobooth and free teacup rides at Salamanca Markets – just to name a few! You can download this quirky Christmas programme from Hobart City Council.

Wyndham Surfers Paradise and Kirra – You just can’t go past a spectacular display of Christmas lights.  No.  You really can’t.  Drive around at night with kids in the car and you’ll soon be forced to stop and marvel at the displays!  The Gold Coast City Council has run a light competition for the last 20 years.  And each year the entrants add to their displays.  Laser shows, interactive elves… the more over the top the better!  Details of the entries are due to be published in a few days, however judging by last year if you take a relaxing drive around any of the streets indicated in this interactive map, you will be in for a show!  Or you could hop on the Christmas lights tour bus – leaving from the Gold Coast Arts Centre nightly from 7 December.

Wyndham Sydney – As a small town girl at heart whatever time of year I visit Sydney, I simply walk around with wide eyes in awe at all the sights and sounds!  Sydney looks to be that little bit extra dazzling this time of the year, and the location of your Sydney Resort puts you right at the heart of it!  This month the Town Hall will be lit up with projections every night, and every Thursday night there will be ‘singing in the streets’.  And of course, you can’t go past Carols in the Domain on Thursday 22 December!

These are just a few ideas that might whet your Christmas whistle!  I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our Owners and readers a safe and happy ‘silly season’!  Happy Holidays!
