Hear that? It’s Santa’s sleigh bells ringing Christmas is practically around the corner, so, in the spirit of the season, I’ve compiled some of my favourite stories Owners have sent in from their past Christmases at WorldMarkSP resorts – for holiday inspiration. Tis’ the season to be jolly, after all!
Owner education teaches the basic fundamentals of The WorldMark South Pacific Club. Education Sessions are designed to help WorldMark Owners use their Ownership and enjoy holidays year after year!
I recently had a quick trip to Western Australia. And I’m regretting that I didn’t make it longer. Everything I hear about Dunsborough & the Margaret River Region tells me it’s well worth the extra couple of hours drive from Perth. Just yesterday, Trip Advisor users voted it the 2nd highest ‘on the rise’ destination in the South Pacific. Here’s why I think they voted (yes, it’s just a list of things I’d like to do in Dunsborough!) 1. Visit […]
Have you been to Sydney so many times that you feel like you’ve seen it all? Or have never holidayed in Sydney and are unsure what to do once you’ve ticked off the usual? I’ve recently returned from a long weekend getaway, and my absolute favourite memory of the trip is a bit of a hidden gem. Ever heard of the Roar and Snore?
What I love about living on the Gold Coast is the proximity to so many weekend escape destinations! It is just too tempting to NOT take advantage of the wide range of holiday opportunities. So, after a hectic few months and a very busy schedule I decided that was exactly what I would do.
I’m planning a mammoth holiday at the moment – taking a whole month off to do some serious exploring, serious relaxing and serious creative reawakening! As exciting as taking a whole month off is, it’s also been a bit daunting. Taking a whole month off, using up all those annual leave days, means that I want to make sure I get the most out of the time! And being the planning fanatic that I am, I bought some of those […]
In many ways we’re pragmatic parents. Our approach to forming a strong, kind and caring human being is to have frank (without creating fear) discussions about the world around us, and the people who inhabit it. Although Hendrix worked out for himself reasonably early that Santa and the Easter Bunny were made up, I like to think that his childhood still has had moments when he’s been filled with a sense of wonder and awe at our world. For instance, […]
Want a 5-minute break to relax, recharge and get inspired? You’ve come to the right place! Below, I’ve compiled some of my favourite travel quotes and ideas – guaranteed to get your feet itching for an adventure…
As a WorldMark South Pacific Club Owner did you know that you have a full service team available to assist and help you to plan holidays! Introducing to you…your Owner Education Team. Here are 5 reasons why you should get involved and participate in an education session. The Owner Education Team make every effort to connect with Owners in YOUR local area. Education sessions are typically conducted off-site away from the resorts at independent venues like RSL Clubs, Hotel function […]
I’ve always wanted to visit Western Australia. Last month I had the opportunity to travel there as part of the Travel & Service Expo team. There were quite a few of us that had never been, and as we’d calculated we had approximately 4 hours in which to soak up the true Tourist experience of Perth – we made the most of it. Since there was no time to do everything, we decided to focus on one spot – Fremantle. […]
Bula! How many times have you visited Fiji? Once? Twice? Every year? If you haven’t quite made it to the beautiful islands of Fiji yet, or if you haven’t yet experienced the new apartments at your resort in Denarau Island (only just released!) – read on…
Can you think back to when you first learnt a new skill? Maybe you can remember when you first learnt to ride a bike. How did you feel attempting to take on that monumental new task?
Bula, Today it’s time to soak up as much of Fiji as we can because this afternoon we sadly have to go home. It feels like we’ve been here for ages and the staff have definitely treated us like we have. They all greet us by our names and treat us like we’re long lost friends. I’m going to miss saying Bula all day. While all of the staff are wonderful as they always are in every Wyndham resort we’ve […]
Well, it’s official. Nothing can dampen Fiji’s spirits. Not even rain and storms on one of the country’s biggest night of nights. We woke up excited that today was the official opening of Stage 3 of Wyndham Resort Denarau Island – the biggest project on the island in years. But we also woke up to a damp and overcast Fiji. The light drizzle did nothing to ruin our plans: a tour of Nadi, including Vuda Lookout, Sri Sivasubramaniya Swami (Hindu) […]
You can feel the excitement in the air at Wyndham Resort Denarau Island today. It’s getting awfully close to the grand opening of the resort extension and everyone already seems to be in celebration mode – or maybe this is just Fiji? I’m lounging on a beach chair on my balcony looking out at the brand new adults only pool (we really must try out one of the five spas we counted in there) and watching one of the staff […]
Our own private island. That’s where we spent our second day in Fiji. Crystal clear water that somehow turns the bluest of blues, coral reef and silky white sand. I doubt I need to say it, but it doesn’t get better than this. Ok, so it wasn’t quite ours alone. We did have to share the island with a handful of other tourists, but when you’re in Fiji, everyone is happy and friendly. The day began when we were picked […]
Bula! Wow, what a welcome! Fiji sure knows how to make you feel special. My husband Brett and I have been here just a few hours and already I feel at home, relaxed and totally special. Even the weather has put it on for us with beautiful cool breezes and a bright pink-orange sunset against the blue of the ocean. Ever since I got the call to say I had won the Fiji Resort Reporter competition I’ve been […]
I have some important information for WorldMarkSP Owners! The previous WorldMarkSP mobile apps will not be supported, and will longer function, in the coming weeks. “Oh no”, you say?! But wait… its not bad news! The *NEW* WorldMarkSP Resort Assistant app offers all the great benefits of the old apps + even more! Why a mobile app? The new WorldMarkSP Resort Assistant mobile app is all about convenience. Sure, it’s useful to have your Resort Guide, and Destinations Magazines are fantastic for […]

What types of holidays do you prefer? Beach? City? Gourmet food and wine trails? Did you know that Perth, in Western Australia, has all these things? Here’s your fast guide on veering a little of the beaten trail…
We had our first WorldMark Travel & Service Expo for the year in Brisbane on Saturday. It was fun and, for me, educational. It was great to speak to so many Owners in person, and it helped me gain a better understanding of what I can do to make WorldMarkSP Online an even more helpful place for our WorldMark Owner Community. I thought I’d share a couple of the things I learned. 1. Facebook isn’t for everyone – but some […]
Will you be staying at a WorldMark resort near a beach that’s on this list? Here at WorldMark, we know that Owners love holidaying for different reasons – to catch up with family, for gourmet food and wine, for skiing, golfing, and, of course, beaching. Ok, so beaching isn’t quite the right word in this context; but you know what I mean! To help you decide where to holiday next (or give you places to visit for an upcoming trip), I’ve […]

During my recent trip to Victoria (great shopping!) to host some Education Sessions for WorldMark Owners; I found that there were lots of questions being asked about the Privileges Membership.
I’m sorry to do this to you. And I must admit I got a shock myself. The Christmas decorations, Christmas trees and general Christmas paraphernalia are out at David Jones already. I’ve never thought of myself as a Grinch - I like tinsel, carols and candy canes as much as the next person but 100+ days out?! Is it just me, or does that seem to take some of the ‘joy’ out of Christmas and put a whole lot more of the ‘commercial’ in? […]
Bula! The Moment Has Arrived! Today is exciting for everyone involved with the WorldMark South Pacific Club – team members and Owners alike. For over 13 years WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners have been relaxing at arguably their most loved Resort – Wyndham Resort Denarau Island. After much anticipation, today Owners can begin to book their holidays in the Brand New Apartments! I’ll share links below to all the information you need to know about booking your apartments, but before you […]
A special report from Suzy Berry, Resort Manager at Wyndham Flynn’s Beach. On Thursday 5th September, at our regular Wyndham meet and greet event/ Owners Drinks, we hosted a special fundraiser. 250 native plants along with 18 advanced Koala Feed Trees were sponsored by the local community and Owners/ guests of the resort, and planted throughout the resort grounds. This was a contribution toward the existing Wyndham/Landcare project to regenerate Wrights Creek, and will enhance the existing Koala habitat. Combining […]
My dad loves cheesecake, so every Fathers Day and birthday this simple homemade cheesecake makes an appearance. You could add in your favourite flavouring – think berry, chocolate or caramel swirl, or keep it simple with some fresh seasonal fruit. This recipe makes one big cake, but you could easily turn it into individual cakes using a muffin tin and baking paper strips. Homemade cheesecake with macerated strawberries 150g (3/4 packet) arrowroot biscuits 90g flaked almonds 135g white chocolate, melted […]
Looking for something off the beaten trail for your next Queensland holiday? It may be the state’s largest city, but those on the tourist trail often overlook Brisbane (myself included!). So for something a little different this Friday, here’s your by-no-means-definitive guide to Brissie attractions.
How are you? Feeling a little stretched? Feeling that the numbers you complete when asked your ‘age’ don’t quite feel right? I’ve been thinking a bit about birthday’s lately – and why it is that we track the years, and set goals to achieve by the years that we live. Approaching three-zero, four-zero, five-zero… these numbers can define us – but the more I ponder, the more I talk to those approaching eight-zero and nine-zero, the more I realise the […]

Do you love taking photos of your loved ones and the things you do and see on your holidays? Are you happy with the results? Are your loved ones proud to share your pictures of them? With camera technology as it is, it’s easy to think that all you have to do is simply point and click to get a great shot, but I was surprised at the improvement in the quality of my photos, with just a few simple […]
How amazing is it when you’ve got a holiday to look forward to? How not-so-amazing is it when you’re on your way home at the end of your trip and all of you’ve got is work and the washing to look forward to? WorldMark Owner Neale recently sent us a holiday story, containing this useful tip for her fellow Owners:
RCI offers a great alternative to holiday accommodation particularly when you are looking at destinations beyond the WorldMark South Pacific Club Resorts. RCI membership can increase your holiday choices, destinations, properties and holiday benefits.
For me, as a total & complete lover of travelling, the last night and last day of a holiday is the worst. You know that normal life is just ahead. We had a cruisy morning having breakfast in our room and packing up all our things. We checked out of the resort – very sadly – and thanked the staff for our brilliant stay. I’m going to miss the sound of the waterfall in the pool when I go to […]
We started today having Breakfast with the Birds at Wildlife Habitat. It starts at 8.30am & is only a few minutes drive down the road from the Resort, or you can even walk if tour feeling energetic & its not too hot. So you don’t have to get out of bed too early. It’s a gorgeous place. The breakfast is yummy with lots to choose from – hot food, fruit, cereals, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, hot chocolate – and it’s […]
Today we had a relaxing morning at the resort which was really nice. The girls were keen on the $1 all you can eat pancakes in the restaurant & they were very full afterwards. It’s a great bargain. They have the pancake machine that make them in front of you & the choice of chocolate, strawberry or maple syrup for topping. They combined all 3 for a taste sensation! The resort is gorgeous in the morning with the sun filtering […]
So now we feel more relaxed & look like we fit in! Yesterday we had our Sydney clothes on, fresh from a cold morning when we left home. Today it’s cosies, boardies & thongs. It’s a very comfortable place when you are dressed in the right clothes! We had a pretty good sleep but 3 little kids thought it was play time in the middle of the night because “we are in a hotel Mummy” – so they think they […]
After a long morning getting here, we’re relaxing at Central Hotel Port Douglas So our day started at 5.30am getting up & getting the kids ready to start our adventure of being the Port Douglas Resort Reporter for Wyndham. We were all pretty excited. I won’t bore you with the details of the trip up here, but it was actually very good. We travelled with Virgin Australia and after a few gate changes and a slightly delayed take off, we […]
All this talk of elections, voting preferences, he said – she said, ‘New Hope’, old hope, no hope, ‘A New Way’ …just makes me want to do something else. I’m not naive – I’ll read the parties policies before voting (alp / lib / green), but I’ll skip the jargon in the newspapers and on television any day (although it’s harder to skip the social media adverts and YouTube videos that keep popping up everywhere). So, what would I rather be […]

Thanks to all our entrants in our recent Resort Reporter Fiji competition! We can’t wait until our winner, Megan reports back from Wyndham Fiji! Today we’d also like to make special mention of some of the other worthy entries in the competition. As usual, you all made the judges’ job very difficult. Michelle shared her amazing photos and some great information about Pokolbin Hill. Irene shared precious memories and pics of a family holiday to Fiji. Paivi shared her beautiful […]
So every family event my sister-in-law Alyssa whips up beautiful, perfect individual chocolate mousses! Mint chocolate, Choc-honeycomb, top deck (white & milk chocolate) – the flavour combinations are endless when you think about it. I’ve made many a chocolate mousse in the kitchen, but it’s always a gamble with whether they set or not – this fail safe recipe is so easy you can whip up after work, or even while on holidays, and enjoy a few hours later! Alyssa’s […]
I don’t like to panic you, but did you know that Fathers Day is fast approaching on 1 September 2013? Last year, of course, we collectively promised ourselves that we wouldn’t leave the Fathers Day present shopping until the last minute – again. Which means that we have less than a month to find him the perfect gift. And I? Well, I’ve got an idea… How ecstatic would he be when he receives a holiday as his present?!
So it’s that time again – Midwinter. You are sitting at your desk looking out the window at grey skies and planning the dash through the cold car park to get to your car. If you are in Tassie you may have to hose the frost off the windscreen before you get in! Maybe it’s time to start thinking about taking a cruise! WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners can often be in possession of a 241 cruise certificates for ICE […]
Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the world and experience unique cultures and local customs. While the team and I were recently in Port Douglas, Queensland conducting business at our newly refurbished Ramada Port Douglas resort we were honoured to get a glimpse into the culture of the traditional owners and custodians of the land, via the Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime Walk. It was humbling to witness the true connection our indigenous guide had […]
You guys, our WorldMarkSP Owners are a talented bunch! As a member of the judging panel for Resort Reporter Port Douglas competition I can attest to the fact that there were many entries that made us all, collectively gasp! There’s not enough room to highlight them all for you, but I thought I’d share a couple of those great entries with you here. Candy and Nick shared 5 gorgeous photos of Wanaka, just like this one. Read the full story […]
Seeking to get out of a weekend rut and need entertainment for you, the kids, and even the pet dog? My tip? Put a medieval fair on your calendar. I just got back from the Abbey Medieval Festival, where I was put in the stocks, got up close and personal with a gypsy horse, ate medieval food and was a jousting tournament spectator!
The word ‘free’ conjures up images and stories – in itself, ‘free’ is a fairly common one syllable word – there’s no fancy silent letters or characters. As a word, ‘free’ is nothing special.
